Clinical Hypnotherapy
Clinical hypnotherapy is a collaborative and respectful approach that helps you work with patterns of thought, emotion, and behaviour that may be keeping you feeling stuck or out of control. It makes use of a natural state of focused attention that we all move in and out of every day, such as when day-dreaming, becoming absorbed in a book, or driving on autopilot. With guidance, this state can be used intentionally to support change.
You remain aware and in control throughout the process. Where appropriate, clinical hypnotherapy can also support the safe exploration and processing of unprocessed memories, helping reduce their emotional impact and influence in the present. Alongside this, it can be used to strengthen inner resources and create an enhanced sense of possibility for the future. Many people find this work supports a renewed sense of choice, confidence, and control in their lives, allowing change to unfold in a way that feels meaningful, manageable, and lasting.
EMDR
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a gentle, structured therapy designed to help you process traumatic or emotionally intense experiences that may still be affecting you, even if they happened a long time ago. When these events are not fully processed, they can continue to influence emotions, beliefs, and reactions in everyday life.
EMDR helps your brain work through these experiences in a safe and supported way, reducing their emotional intensity. You remain in control throughout the process, with careful attention to safety, pacing, and what feels manageable for you at every stage. Many people find that EMDR not only brings relief from past difficulties, but also helps them feel more grounded, confident, and better equipped to move forward with their life.
Ego State Therapy
Ego State Therapy is an empowering approach that recognises we all naturally have different parts of the mind that work together to guide us through everyday life; a family of the mind, as it were. These parts we call ego states, and they help us cope, make decisions, and stay safe. When we encounter trauma or emotional upset, communication between these parts can break down, or some may begin working in unhelpful or outdated ways, leading to inner conflict or distress.
Ego State Therapy helps you gently understand and restore communication within this inner system in a safe and respectful way. Many people find that this work supports greater self-understanding, reduces internal tension, and allows them to respond to life with more balance, choice, and confidence.
Inner Child Therapy
Inner Child therapy is a compassionate approach that recognises that psychological parts of us were shaped in childhood and can continue to influence how we feel, think, and relate in adult life. When early experiences were painful, confusing, or overwhelming, those younger parts may still carry fear, shame, unmet needs, or express themselves through child-like behaviours such as temper tantrums, people-pleasing, emotional reactivity, or self-doubt.
This therapy gently helps you reconnect with and care for those aspects of yourself in a safe and understanding way, allowing outdated patterns of thinking and behaving to shift and more balanced mature responses to develop. Many people find that this work deepens self-understanding, strengthens self-compassion, and supports a more confident and grounded way of moving forward.
Mind-Body Therapy
Mind–Body therapy focuses on the connection between emotional wellbeing and physical health. When we experience illness, injury, surgery, or ongoing health concerns, it is natural for strong emotional responses such as fear, frustration, grief, or loss of confidence to arise.
These reactions can affect recovery, resilience, and overall quality of life. Mind–Body therapy gently explores and supports these emotional responses, helping you feel more empowered, calmer, and better able to cope with what your body is going through. Many people find that by strengthening the relationship between mind and body, they are better able to manage stress, support healing, and regain a greater sense of balance and stability in their lives.
My Approach
My way of working is calm, thoughtful, and collaborative. I place great importance on safety, pacing, and what feels manageable for you at each stage of the process. Therapy is not about being pushed or “fixed”, but about creating a space where you can slow down, feel heard, and begin to relate to yourself with greater clarity and compassion.
We work together using the therapeutic approach or combination of approaches that best supports your needs. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all model, we shape a therapeutic path that is responsive to you and aligned with your personal goals.
At the heart of my work is the creation of a steady, respectful therapeutic space, one where trust can develop and change is allowed to emerge naturally, at a pace that feels right for you.
